Julio Etchart is a London-based documentary photographer and visual journalist who has covered social, cultural, political and environmental issues around the world for many years. Etchart came to the School of Art today to do a general talk about his work. It was very interesting as he talked about a current project that he is working on: Grenfell Tower. He captures the ongoing protests for justice and work that is being done to the building itself. He also gave insight to an upcoming book that he is in the process of writing. The photos were absolutely outstanding and they really inspired me to look further into documentary photography. So overall the talk was very helpful to me and I would advise anyone to go to any talks that he may do in the future.
